Hospitalero Training

Victoria

March 27-29, 2026

Thank you for your interest in training to be a hospitaler@. Over the past 15 years, we have trained over 350 hospitaler@s.  This year over 50 positions on the Camino de Santiago have been staffed by Canadian hospitaler@s. We guarantee that the training will be a weekend of fun, learning, and reinforcement of all those things you learned and felt on the Camino.  Some folks will be coming from out of town and will require accommodation.  If you have room to billet a single or couple, please indicate below. You can have great fun reliving the camino!

The training you will receive is the same as is offered in Spain, the US, South Africa and Australia. The Spanish Federation requires that before you take the course, you must have walked or cycled one of the Caminos and have stayed in some of the Donativo albergues. Please indicate below which route(s) you have walked and please name 2 or 3 of the Donativo albergue in which you stayed. If you would like to comment on the kind of hospitality you received from these albergues, we would be grateful.

Please complete this form and email it to Shannon Buchan. The registration fee of $150 can be sent by etransfer to Shannon. This fee is used to pay for the all training materials and your meals from Friday evening to Sunday lunch (except Saturday night ). Any money left after the expenses for the weekend will be donated to the albergues on the Camino.
